The Catherine Beckett Community Centre is a vital community hub in the heart of the Deepdale area, serving as a welcoming space for residents to gather, connect, and access resources.
Since opening in the 1950s, we have been committed to providing high-quality services and facilities that meet the needs of our community.
Our mission is to empower individuals and families to thrive by providing access to education, health, and wellness programs, as well as social and cultural events that foster a sense of belonging and community.
Our History
The Centre has been a cornerstone since 1950 when it opened as a gathering space for the older generation. It transitioned to a community centre in the 1970s before undergoing major renovations. Improvements included a nursery annex, updated kitchen, disabled access, parking and more. Over the past 20 years, we've continued enhancing the Centre.
Building for the Future
Looking ahead, we have an ambitious vision to ensure the Catherine Beckett Community Centre serves as a vibrant hub for the entire Deepdale community for decades to come. Plans include re-developing the nursery into a Community Cafe & IT Suite, upgrading facilities, expanding our gardens and outdoor spaces, and increasing our community outreach.
